Secondly after much consideration I have started a new blog. This one will remain for now my new on is a place for me to ramble away at will particularly given the many miriard of things going on in my life right now. You can find it here

As a lad in my church said “Christian aren’t weirdos who eat jam donuts!”

I relised this morning that I was running low on some of my medication, at the required time for ordering prescriptions I rang my surgery, no reply. I rang again and again and again, still no reply.

By this point I was getting miffed at the apparent lack of ability of the receptionist to pick up the phone.

Then suddenly I twigged.

She can’t pick up the phone, she’s not there.

Its Saturday!

But in order to move the plants I had to move the sitting room round.

I stumbled and fell, straight into the wardrobe. I then proceded to start banging on the back of the wardrobe shouting “Mr Tumnus” and looking for Narnia.

Honest I do not normally go looking for magical lands in my wardrobe!

I spent a small fortune but I know the lads will be happy with the treats I bought them and Prince Harry was delighted with his new house, he hasn’t left it since I bought it, except for his grub.

I also bought  my self a couple of “spider plants” I have love having plants in my house but I have a habit of killing them however, I have been reassured that they are very difficult to kill my only disapointment was that I never had a chance to go and play in the childrens play area it looked great fun.

I have had time to get my head round it and reflect on the news, to be honest I am utterly delighted to be under going surgery. Its not the surgery its self I am looking forward too, I know its gunna hurt. A lot.

But, I know it offers me a 90 per cent chance of being pain free, a 90 percent chance of no longer being dependent on pain killers, a 90 percent chance of no longer having awful side effects from my pain killers, a 90 per cent chance of being able to dress myself without pain and stiffness, a 90 per cent chance of being able to join in with the church badminton nights, a 90 per cent chance of being able to move my arm fully and without pain and the bones grating, a 90 per cent chance of being able to allow Sparky to sit on my shoulder with out being in pain and so the 90 percent chance list goes on.

I was nervous waiting for the surgeon to come back with his decision not because he might say I needed surgery but because he might say its not an option. And I am more nervous that something might prevent it happening rather than it actually happening. I really hope that I am not setting myself up for a fall were I set my expectations for the surgery too high and I am left deeply disappointed when it goes wrong but, I know that undergoing the surgery is an opportunity to great to miss.

I know I am being offered something that carries with it a 90 percent chance of improving my quality of life

Well after several appointments, some of which have been documented in my blog it looks very likely that I am going to be going into hospital for surgery to have my acromyoclavicar joint removed which, I have been warned is very painful but it carries a 90 percent success rate.

I have had further x rays today on of which was incredibly painful and resulted in me swearing and having a few tears maybe it was intended as a bit of an endurance test, a kind of “this surgery going to be very painful so lets send you off to x ray to give you an idea of the pain to come” type apporoach.
